• Wiremap — every pair on the right pins, with no opens, shorts, reversed or split pairs.
• Length — each permanent link within the 90-metre limit.
• Performance — insertion loss, crosstalk and return loss against the Cat6 or Cat6A limit, where the project calls for certification.
• Fibre — loss testing on every fibre core, end to end.

You get a results report per link along with the as-built drawing and port schedule. Many cable manufacturers' warranties and most IT audits ask for exactly this report.

Cabling is priced per point (one cable run from the rack to one outlet, terminated and tested at both ends), plus the rack and any backbone. What moves the per-point price:

• Cable grade — Cat6A costs more than Cat6 in cable, jacks and labour.
• Run length — longer average runs use more cable per point.
• Containment — surface trunking is quicker than concealed conduit in finished walls or cable trays in high ceilings.
• Working hours — night and weekend work in an occupied office costs more than a bare-shell fit-out.
• Rack and active kit — rack size, patch panels and switches are quoted separately so you can compare.
